About Revolut

Revolut is a global financial technology company founded in 2015 with a mission to give people greater visibility, control and flexibility over their money. Its digital financial services include spending, saving, investing, currency exchange, travel-related services and other financial products.

With a global customer base and an international workforce, Revolut focuses on building technology-driven financial services supported by secure operations, effective controls and a strong customer experience. Financial crime prevention is an important part of maintaining customer trust and protecting the financial ecosystem.

Revolut’s Financial Crime Operations teams use investigative expertise, data-driven processes and compliance procedures to identify suspicious activity, assess financial crime risks and help protect customers. Quality assurance plays a vital role in ensuring that investigations are accurate, consistent, properly documented and aligned with internal procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

About the Role

Revolut is hiring a FinCrime Quality Analyst (Investigations) to review the quality of financial crime investigations and provide constructive feedback to compliance teams and individual analysts. The role focuses on evaluating investigative decisions, identifying successful outcomes and weaknesses, and helping teams improve the accuracy and consistency of their case handling.

The successful candidate will use their financial crime knowledge to assess investigation files, review supporting evidence, identify procedural gaps and analyse recurring issues. Through data-driven insights and root-cause analysis, the Quality Analyst will help identify opportunities to improve investigative standards, operational processes and risk-based decision-making.

This position also involves applying internal compliance procedures, reporting issues to relevant managers, coaching new team members and collaborating with colleagues across different locations. Candidates should have practical experience in financial crime investigations and be comfortable reviewing complex cases involving money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion and other financial crime risks.

The role is particularly suitable for professionals who combine strong investigative judgement with attention to detail, analytical thinking, clear communication and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Crime Investigation Quality Assurance

  • Review the work completed by financial crime investigators and compliance analysts to assess the quality of case outcomes.
  • Evaluate whether investigations are complete, accurate, evidence-based and consistent with applicable internal procedures.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses in investigative decisions, case documentation and risk assessments.
  • Assess whether relevant information has been gathered and appropriately considered before an investigation is concluded.
  • Identify missed red flags, incomplete analysis, unsupported conclusions and procedural inconsistencies.
  • Check whether investigation outcomes are supported by the available evidence and relevant risk indicators.
  • Maintain an objective approach when assessing investigation quality and determining whether case-handling standards have been met.

2. Feedback and Analyst Performance Improvement

  • Provide constructive feedback to individual analysts and compliance teams based on quality reviews.
  • Explain identified errors, procedural gaps and opportunities for improvement using clear examples.
  • Support analysts in understanding investigation standards, documentation requirements and expected decision-making practices.
  • Use quality review findings to identify recurring performance issues and areas requiring additional guidance.
  • Help teams improve investigative accuracy, consistency and adherence to compliance procedures.
  • Communicate feedback professionally and objectively, with an emphasis on learning and sustainable improvement.
  • Escalate significant quality concerns to the appropriate quality control or financial crime management teams.

3. Root-Cause Analysis and Data-Driven Insights

  • Analyse quality review results to identify recurring errors, trends, patterns and anomalies across investigation cases.
  • Investigate the underlying causes of quality issues rather than focusing only on individual mistakes.
  • Use available dashboards, reports and case management systems to evaluate quality trends and operational performance.
  • Identify common gaps in investigative judgement, evidence gathering, documentation and procedural adherence.
  • Prepare findings that help management understand the nature, frequency and potential impact of quality issues.
  • Recommend practical improvements to reduce recurring errors and strengthen investigation outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through evidence-based analysis and structured reporting.

4. Financial Crime Typology Assessment

  • Apply knowledge of financial crime typologies when reviewing investigation files and case decisions.
  • Assess whether analysts have appropriately identified and considered potential money laundering indicators.
  • Review cases involving suspected fraud, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion and other relevant financial crime risks.
  • Evaluate whether suspicious patterns, transaction activity and other risk indicators have been adequately investigated.
  • Check that case conclusions are consistent with the available evidence and relevant risk factors.
  • Identify situations where additional investigation, clarification or escalation may be required.
  • Help reinforce consistent and risk-based approaches to financial crime investigations.

5. Compliance Procedures and Control Effectiveness

  • Learn, understand and apply the financial crime department’s policies, procedures and quality standards.
  • Identify procedural issues that could affect the accuracy, consistency or effectiveness of investigations.
  • Report process deficiencies and control concerns to relevant managers.
  • Review investigative decisions and processes to identify opportunities for stronger controls.
  • Recommend improvements that align with regulatory obligations and business requirements.
  • Support consistent implementation of procedures across teams and locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality reviews, findings and feedback in relevant internal systems.

6. Regulatory Reporting Awareness

  • Apply knowledge of financial crime reporting obligations when reviewing relevant investigation cases.
  • Consider jurisdiction-specific regulatory reporting requirements where applicable.
  • Identify potential gaps in the documentation or handling of cases with regulatory reporting implications.
  • Review whether investigative decisions and supporting records provide an adequate basis for relevant risk-based outcomes.
  • Escalate concerns where case handling may not align with applicable reporting requirements or internal procedures.
  • Help improve consistency in investigative documentation across different regulatory environments.

7. Coaching and Team Collaboration

  • Support the development of new team members by explaining investigative standards and quality expectations.
  • Share practical feedback and lessons learned from quality reviews.
  • Collaborate with financial crime investigators, compliance analysts and quality control teams across different locations.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to understand recurring operational challenges and improve case-handling practices.
  • Communicate findings clearly to colleagues with different levels of investigative experience.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, accountability and consistent quality standards.

8. Continuous Improvement in Financial Crime Operations

  • Identify opportunities to improve investigation workflows, quality review methods and documentation practices.
  • Recommend process changes that improve accuracy, efficiency and procedural compliance.
  • Support the development of consistent investigation standards across teams.
  • Help management identify areas where further training, procedural clarification or control improvements may be required.
  • Contribute to better financial crime risk outcomes by improving the reliability of investigative decisions.
  • Balance operational efficiency with the need for thorough, well-supported and compliant investigations.
